about

Alex: It’s not a secret that we are living in a country with a lot of social and political problems. And sometimes it’s difficult not to feel helpless in all that. You can only get on with it. And get angry. Homeland is a reflection on that.

Matvey: The whole Homeland song was developed from just a shred of another song riff. Which in this case means we discarded everything we found excessive and it just clicked. Like Michelangelo did with marble.

Boris: Yes, it’s a “Let’s rock hard” song. It’s still the best color to paint some feelings.

Vlad: Its first line «My Homeland is on fire» defines the whole song for me. I seem to hear flame in every note — from warning crackling of lumber starting to burn to roar of wildfire.

Володя: Первая строчка «My Homeland is on fire» определяет для меня всю песню.

lyrics

My Homeland is on fire
Through the fire you can't see
Can not touch can not do much
Sit and wait unconsciously

I believe we're in trouble
Born with this skin
So tragically thin
If we can take another burn
Should we accept another one?

Who we are
Have we gone too far
Messed up with no identity
There's a time for a drinker
There's a time for a thinker
There may be a time to have some dignity

I believe we're in trouble
Born with this skin
So tragically thin
If we can take another burn
Should we accept another one?
